Groove Cruise Miami Announces Huge Aspiring DJ Contest

Groove Cruise Miami is returning for its 15th anniversary of sailing, and in celebration of this milestone the floating festival has announced a stacked lineup and has paired up with DJ Mag to present a life-changing DJ Contest for aspiring performers. 

In addition to revealing two new stages for the anniversary cruise, The ‘Celebrity Infinity’ ship sailing on January 14th, 2019 will feature producer Lost Frequencies’ own stage, ‘Lost Frequencies & Friends’.  

Groove Cruise is known for the freshest Techno and Trance, and they will be pulling out all the stops for the 15th year celebration. Headliners like Kaskade, Aly & Fila, Hot Since 82, MK, Markus Schulz and Simon Patterson will all be joining the voyage to beautiful Cozumel, Mexico and Key West, Florida. 

Arguably the best part of this whole event? DJ Mag has decided to provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to an aspiring DJ/Producer. The company will choose one lucky winner to be flown to Groove Cruise, where they will be supplied with a free ocean-view stateroom; A package that would normally be valued over $3,000! The contest winner will also have a chance to perform aboard the cruise alongside countless headliners and industry professionals.

The contest began on November 20th and will be ending on December 13th at midnight. Top finalists who are not chosen for the grand prize will get their guest mixes evaluated by guest judges and some of Groove Cruise’s finest headliners. Contest Terms & Conditions
“Favorite” your preferred mix or upload your own to Groove Cruise’s MixCloud competition for your chance to spin onboard #GCMiami 2019. Mixes should be no more than 60 minutes long. All electronic music genres are welcome. This contest is for up-and-coming artists only, so DJs cannot have an agent or a manager. One submission per DJ allowed. Submissions must be from the artist themselves. You may not upload another artist’s mix. Roundtrip airfare up to $600 USD. Winning DJ and their guest must both be 21+. Any artist found to be participating in favoriting or listen manipulation, voting rings, or vote/listen/like fraud will be automatically disqualified without warning. Fans can only “favorite” once per mix for the entirety of the competition. This is a global contest: Anyone in the world is eligible to win.

– You must be following Groove Cruise on MixCloud.
– Your entry must be a maximum of 60 minutes in length.
– Name the entry “Groove Cruise Miami 2019 DJ Contest Mix: Your Entry Title – Genre”.
– Tag your mix “#GrooveCruiseDJContest.” If you fail to tag the mix correctly, your entry may be missed.
– Add the full track listing in the typical MixCloud format: Track Number – Artist – Track Title.
– Use the #GrooveCruise mix contest flyer as the mix image.

Getting the most listens/favorites/shares/buzz on your mix will increase exposure and help get your mix to the final round, but the winner will ultimately be chosen by a judging panel based on creativity, originality, and quality, regardless of its ranking.
