Adidas Originals presented the fifth installment of The Greatest Day Ever this weekend at New York Expo Center in the Bronx. The carnival inspired cross-genre festival pulled out some big names this year for the fifth year anniversary. Among Exron Music’s favorites were RL Grime, Alison Wonderland, Claude Vonstroke, Keys n Krates, and Wuki. The festival offered popular carnival rides such as a ferris wheel with breathtaking views of New York City, a slide, a swinging boat ride, and carnival games with many prizes! The stage at Greatest Day Ever provided the classic New York warehouse party vibe with solid light and sound production.
The first day of the festival starred Wuki, Valentino Khan, Majid Jordan, Alison Wonderland. Each artist captivated the crowd and proved that they prepared to throw down. Valentino Khan dropped his classics and added a hard style twist to his set. Alison Wonderland showcased her new album and put on an amazing show. It was evident that everyone was enjoying her performance. All of these acts geared up the crowd for RL Grime’s closing set.
RL Grime proved what an icon he is to the electronic music world with his closing set at Greatest Day Ever. His new track “Pressure” was barely a week old but he made sure that everyone would remember that track after leaving his set. His mixing was flawless as he dropped banger after banger. His other recent tracks “Undo” and “I Wanna Know” were also both staples in his set.
The second day fed off the energy of a successful first day. Keys N Krates played a live set that blew the crowd away, especially when they dropped their famous track “Dum Dee Dum”. Claude Vonstroke put the crowd into a deep house trance while GTA laid down some trap and house bangers. The festival showed what a killer hip hop festival they can throw with Metro Boomin, Tory Lanez, and Young Thug closing down the festival. The Greatest Day Ever provided two unique days of experiences for attendees and provided the importance of a cross-genre festival for the ever changing music world. We can’t wait to be back next year!
