Slander Puts A Sensational Twist on Above & Beyond’s “Always”

The Los Angeles based duo, Slander has an incredibly unique sound that is persistently evolving, keeping fans on edge. With Slander, you never know exactly what you’re going to get, but you do know it will be epic—and this remix of Above & Beyond’s “Always” definitely is.

Slander’s music has the potential to smack you in the face with a dirty drop then turn around and have you shedding tears to a beautiful melody. For their remix of “Always” released on June 15th, I bet you can guess which avenue they took.

It is hard for an artist to match the allure and outpouring of emotions that listeners feel during an Above & Beyond song. With Slander’s remix of “Always”, the energy of the original track is not only matched but exemplified. Slander took “Always” and turned it completely around with a bass twist for even more of a feel-good vibe. The track begins slow, retaining all of the original heartfelt lyrics, which compliment the passion of the music well. Each build up is concluded with a dramatic drop bringing euphoria to the listener. Slander has been commended for successfully incorporating components of trance into their trap style, and their remix of “Always” does just that.
