SLANDER and Bret James Release New Collaboration “Slow Motion”

The L.A. based duo, Slander sets themselves apart in the electronic music world through their ability to stun a crowd withsome heavy bass one minute, then slow it down to a sentimentalmelody the next. Slander and Bret James new single “Slow Down” released June 1 on Monstercat creates the ultimate representation of the latter. Slander’s multigenre platform allows them to reach a wide variety of audiences and appeal to a range of emotions—often within the entirety of a single set

With the release of “Slow Motion”, fans might be reminded of the feelings that overcome them when they hear other songs by Slander such as “Love Again” or “Superhuman which are known for bringing crowds to tears. Singer Bret James soft voice and passionate lyrics carry the song smoothly along to the slow harmony of the instrumentals. Although “Slow Motion” does include a couple of drops, they are much more relaxed and subtle than Slander fans might be accustomed to hearing.  Theoverall soundscape is chilling and heartfelt, illuminating the side of Slander that brings EDM listeners to tears. “Slow Down” reminds us that it doesn’t hurt to take a deep breath every once in a while.

I've been a part of the dance music scene for nearly a decade and with Exron for more than half of that time. My first event was Diplo's Mad Decent but these days you'll find me at Club Space or the Brooklyn Mirage. Some of my top artists are G Jones, Tipper, Of The Trees, and CharlestheFirst. My favorite genres are techno, experimental bass, and ambient but I'll get down to anything with a beat!
