Halsey’s “A Story Like Mine” goes viral

On Saturday January 20th at the Women’s March 2018 in New York City Halsey took the stage and blew everyone away.  She starts off by saying that this year when she returned to the Women’s March she wanted to give a speech, but the only way she knew how was for it to rhyme. Her poem goes through a journey of her life and her experiences with rape and sexual abuse.  Halsey’s words are honest and raw and ring familiarity to most females across the world. She opens up about her struggle with female abuse continuing even when she had become famous.

“There is work to be done. There are songs to be sung. Lord knows, there’s a war to be won”

We have been fans of Halsey’s for awhile now. Her singles and her collaborations with producers in the electronic industry have always had us dancing and wanting more. She is known for her work on tracks like “Closer” by the Chainsmokers, her own single “Bad At Love” and her collaboration with G-Eazy, “Him and I”.  Last year she released a sixteen track album called ‘hopeless fountain kingdom’.  Each track on the album has easily surpassed 25K plays on Soundcloud or more. Her voice expresses the lyrics effortlessly and leaves her audiences enchanted. It is clear that she will remain a strong female figure in the music industry for the years to come.
