Exron Spotlight: Spirix
Exron Music recently got the chance to exchange some Q & A with young aspiring producer Spirix. Spirix is currently based in California and gained some serious recognition in 2017 for his remixes of Illenium & Gryffin’s track “Feel Good” and Vanic’s track “Samuari”. He has received over 500k plays on SoundCloud between the two tracks.
“I definitely think that my biggest musical influences were Illenium and The Chainsmokers. They’ve both really built a path for themselves and defined their own genres.”
Spirix’s remixes brighten up every track with a little future bass twist to them while still remaining true to the overall mood of each track. This is something that immediately drew us to him as an artist. Check out our exclusive interview below!
Exron Music: Where are you currently located?
Spirix: I’m a Sophomore at Chapman University in Orange County, California!
Exron Music: When did you start producing music?
Spirix: I started producing music 2 1/2 years ago when I moved to Hong Kong from New York
Exron Music: What are some of your biggest musical influences that led you to creating your own?
Spirix: I definitely think that my biggest musical influences were Illenium and The Chainsmokers. They’ve both really built a path for themselves and defined their own genres.
Exron Music: How did you decide on the style that you currently produce?
Spirix: I was really inspired by artists such as Illenium and Gryffin and the rising future bass scene when I got into production. As a result, I’ve stuck with the wave and rode it since then.
Exron Music: What is your favorite remix that you’ve done thus far?
Spirix: I definitely think that my favorite remix I’ve done this far is my remix for Molly Kate Kestner’s Song “It’s You”
Exron Music: Who would be apart of your dream collab?
Spirix: I think that someone I’d really like to collaborate with in the future would be Illenium.
Exron Music: What are your goals as a musician for 2018?
Spirix: I think that my goals as a musician for 2018 would be to get as much content out as possible. I’m currently setting up to release a lot of original material as well as a lot more remixes!
Exron Music: We really enjoy your remix of the track “Feel Good” by Gryffin & Illenium feat. Daya, what was it about the original track that made you want to create your own twist?
Spirix: I reached out for the stems of Gryffin & Illenium’s “Feel Good” because they are the two artists who have inspired me from the beginning. I wanted to put a darker twist on the track from the euphoric melodic vibes it already encompassed.
Exron Music: Do you have any rituals that help you when creating music?
Spirix: I normally go to the studio at Chapman University and stay there for hours on end until I’m pretty confident on where to take a track.
Exron Music: Do you have any new Music coming out soon that you can tell us about?
Spirix: I have a new original dropping on January 19th, so look out for that!!
We are excited to hear more new music from Spirix in 2018! Check out some of our favorites of his:
